The Art of Being Free

Student Engagement & the Presidential Debate

It cannot be repeated too often: nothing is more fertile in wondrous effects than the art of being free but nothing is harder than freedom's apprenticeship."
-Alexis de Tocqueville

The opportunity to host the Town Hall Presidential Debate provides an invaluable educational experience to our students, allowing them to be participants in American history. The Art of Being Free celebrates Belmont's role as a modern, comprehensive liberal arts university during this pivotal, historical time for our campus, nation and world.
